This page explains how refunds and cancellations work on MotoSwop. We are an advertising platform for motorbikes in South Africa. We do not sell bikes and we do not handle buyer payments for bikes.

Scope at a glance

  • Applies to paid listing plans and Featured placements on MotoSwop
  • Does not apply to the price of bikes or any off‑platform transactions between buyers and sellers

  • Fees cover access to listing tools and exposure on the site
  • We do not guarantee enquiries or a sale
  • Refunds are limited to specific cases listed below
  • In some cases we offer account credit or plan extensions instead of a refund

When you can request a refund or credit

Duplicate charge

If you were charged twice for the same plan or add on, we will refund the duplicate payment.

Technical fault on our side

If a verified platform issue prevented your listing from going live or being visible for a meaningful period, we will extend your plan or offer a pro rated credit.

Mistaken purchase within a short window

If you bought the wrong plan and did not publish any listing against it, contact us promptly. We can switch you to the correct plan or issue a credit at our discretion.

Featured activation failure

If Featured was purchased but the highlight did not activate due to a platform issue, we will re run the activation or credit you for another activation.

Where the law requires a refund

If South African law requires a refund in your specific case, we will comply once we have reviewed the facts.

When refunds are not available

  • Lack of enquiries or no sale of your bike
  • You changed your mind after listing has been published
  • Violations of our Terms or publishing prohibited content
  • Off platform disputes between buyers and sellers
  • Requests received long after the plan period has ended

Cancellations and renewals

  • Plans run for 30 days and can be renewed
  • You can pause a listing during the plan period but pausing does not extend the end date by default
  • You can upgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately
  • Downgrades take effect at the next renewal
  • Turn off auto renewal in your account to avoid future charges

How to request a refund or credit

Email support@motoswop.co.za from your registered address with:

  • Order number
  • Listing title or ID
  • Date of purchase
  • What went wrong and any screenshots

We will acknowledge your request and investigate. If approved, we will offer a refund, credit, or plan extension based on the case.

Processing times

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method
  • Bank processing can take 5 to 10 business days after we issue the refund
  • Credits and extensions are applied to your account within 2 business days

Returns for bikes

MotoSwop does not sell bikes. There are no returns to MotoSwop for vehicles or parts. Any after sale issue is a private matter between buyer and seller. Use our Safety guide to reduce risk, and keep a written sale agreement for your records.

Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback with your bank, your listings may be paused during the investigation. We will share our records with the payment processor. If the chargeback is resolved in our favour and you wish to continue using MotoSwop, you may need to settle any outstanding amounts.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
