MotoSwop is a focused marketplace for buying and selling used motorbikes in South Africa. It connects buyers with verified sellers and helps you arrange safe, in-person viewings.
No. MotoSwop does not hold money, release funds, or arbitrate payment disputes. Payment happens directly between buyer and seller after a viewing.
Yes. Browsing listings, contacting sellers, and saving bikes to your account are free.
Across South Africa. You can filter by province and city and use distance filters to find bikes near you.
Open the listing and use WhatsApp or the enquiry form. Share your availability and suggest a safe public place to meet.
Not in the MVP. You agree payment directly with the seller after you inspect the bike.
Reservations or deposits are not part of the MVP. If a seller agrees to hold a bike, that is a private arrangement between you and the seller.
Match the bike to the photos and description, verify the VIN against the documents, and test basic functions. Bring your driver’s license and, if possible, a trusted friend or mechanic.
Use the Report listing button on the listing page. Our team reviews reports and removes obvious scams and duplicates.

Register on MotoSwop, add your phone and WhatsApp details, upload a profile photo, and complete basic verification so buyers trust your listing.
From your Vendor Dashboard, go to the listing section and create a new listing. Add title, price, make, model, year, mileage, engine CC, province, city, a clear description, and up to 12 photos. Submit for moderation.
Show both sides, front and rear, dashboard, tyres, close-ups of the VIN area, and any extras. Use good light and avoid heavy filters.
We run a quick moderation check for obvious issues. Once approved, it goes live. You will see its status in your dashboard.
Yes. Open the listing in your dashboard, make changes, and save. Major edits may trigger a short recheck.
In your dashboard, open the listing and set its status to Sold. This helps buyers avoid wasted trips.
Yes. Choose the listing plan that matches the number of active listings you need.
Browsing is free. Sellers choose a paid listing plan after a free introductory period for new sellers. Optional Featured placement is available for extra visibility.
No. Buyers do not pay MotoSwop in the MVP.
We verify seller profiles at a basic level, moderate listings, and provide a Safety checklist. We also make it easy to report suspicious content.
We do not verify ownership documents. Sellers should bring proof of ownership and service history to a viewing. Buyers should check the VIN and paperwork before paying.
Choose a public place with good light and CCTV where possible. Do not agree to remote handovers or links for payment.
